Who we are
We are Jennifer, Helen, and Mike. Jennifer and Helen are energy healers in the Seattle area, and Mike is our webmaster. (If you find errors / broken links on this website, please use the form to let me know, and I will reward you with a joke that I deem funny.) We organize Bengston Method workshops and informational events in the Seattle area, and now (thanks to covid-19) online. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact forms
There is a contact form in the “footer” of each page. We collect information submitted in the contact form so we can respond to inquiries.
Cookies
We are not setting cookies on your device, although some of the WordPress plugins listed below probably do set cookies. We do not have visibility into what cookies might be getting set (or how they are used, or when they expire) by our hosting provider Blue Host / Just Host (which now apparently is Newfold Digital), our content management system from Automattic / WordPress, or the various plugins.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
As of November 2018 (and again October 2019, May 2020, July 2021, April 2022, and March 2024) we (the owners of BengstonMethodNW.com) are not using analytics software or services, and we have no plans to use analytics software or services. Our webhosting provider, JustHost.com / BlueHost.com, may or may not be logging the kind of information that an analytics package would use. Where CAPTCHA and reCAPTCHA are used, I assume those services are running some sort of automated analytics, but we do not see those.

Who we share your data with
With the following two exceptions, we don’t knowingly share visitors’ data.
- If you make a purchase, then some of your information is sent to our payment services provider (PayPal.com), in order to facilitate the purchase.
- If you indicate an interest in attending a Bengston Energy Healing Method® lecture / workshop / event we organize, then we may share your name, email address, phone number, and any messages you send us, with William Bengston, Ph.D., and/or his staff and representatives, for the purpose of facilitating your attendance, and to inform you of Dr. Bengston’s other workshops and publications. (If you don’t want us to share your info with Dr. Bengston’s people, let us know, and we’ll comply.)
How long we retain your data
If you purchase attendance at one of the workshops we facilitate, then we retain your billing address (if you gave it to us) until about a month after the event, to make sure any refunds or adjustments can be handled. If you email us or contact us through the website or by email, we retain that communication indefinitely.
What rights you have over your data
We do not have viewer accounts on this site, and we do not have visitor comments; so there is no point to requesting an exported file of the personal data we hold about you — there is no system from which to export such a file. You can request a copy of any correspondence we have exchanged. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
If you initiate a purchase through this site, then some of your information is sent to PayPal, our payments services provider. If you request information about the Bengston Method, then your email address may, in some cases, be shared with the team at https://www.bengstonresearch.com/ so they can follow up with you.

Additional information
How we protect your data
Primarily, we protect your data by not having it. Payment information goes to our payment services provider (PayPal.com), and we never receive your personal payment details.
What data breach procedures we have in place
We don’t have specific data breach procedures. We rely on frequent (automated) software updates from WordPress / WooCommerce / Automattic / BlueHost, complex passwords, and the measures our webhost provider, BlueHost.com, has in place to prevent data breaches. Also, we don’t store any data worth breaching.
What third parties we receive data from
We don’t receive data about you from third parties, unless you complete a purchase via our site (in which case, PayPal informs us how much you paid and what was the email address associated with the payment).
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
As of November 2018 (and again October 2019, May 2020, July 2021, April 2022, and March 2024), we have no automated decision making / profiling software in place, and we have no plans to change that.
